Sarah Averell was born about 1630 in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts.
Sarah is the daughter of William Averill and Abigail
Hinton and sister to William above.
Sarah married John Wildes on November
23, 1663 in Topsfield, Essex County, Massachusetts. Sarah and
John were the parents of Ephraim. Sarah is one of the persons
accused of witchcraft at the infamous Salem Witch Trials. Sarah
was hung as a witch on July 19, 1692 in Salem Village, Essex County,
Massachusetts.
William Averill was born in
1600 in Ash, Kent, England. William is the son of Nicholas
Averill and Dorcas unknown last name. William married
Abigail Hinton on November 26,
1618 in Chipping Norton, Oxford, England. William and Abigail
were the parents of at least seven children, two of them, William
and Sarah, being my direct ancestors. William died on June 3,
1652 in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts and his estate was
probated on March 29, 1653 in Essex County, Massachusetts. His
will lists the fact that William has seven children but does not
name them, it also lists his wife Abigail as Executrix.
Nicholas
Averill was born in 1587 in Farmington, Kentshire, England.
In Ash, Kent, England Nicholas married Dorcas last name
unknown. Nicholas and Dorcas were the parents of William. Nicholas
died in 1631 in Ash, Kent, England.
Dorcas
last name unknown was born about 1610 in England.
