Barbary or Barbara Ballou was born on November 27, 1786 in Guilford, Windham
County, Vermont. She is one of three children born to Benjamin
Ballou and Lydia Horton.
On January 8, 1805 Barbary married Daniel Gore.
Barbary and Daniel were the parents of Hiram, Lovell, Juliana,
Moses, Asahel, Sarah, Elmina F. and Caroline Lydia. Barbary died
on November 2, 1879 in Jacksonville, Massachusetts.
Benjamin
Ballou was born on November 8, 1747 in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
He was one of three sons born to Maturin Ballou and Lydia
Harris. Benjmain married Lydia
Horton about 1770 in Rhode Island.
Benjamin and Lydia were the parents of Martin, Barbary and Asahel.
Benjamin was a Farmer. Benjamin died on February 16, 1834 in Monroe,
Massachusetts.
Maturin Ballou was
born on October 30, 1722 in Lincoln, Providence County, Rhode
Island. He is one of two children born to Peter Ballou
and Rebecca Esten. In 1744 Maturin
married Lydia Harris in Smithfield,
Providence County, Rhode Island. Maturin and Lydia were the parents
of Benjamin, Nathan and Hosea. Maturin was a manufacturer of spinning
wheels, a mechanic, a farmer, and a preacher. He was member of
the Calvinistic Baptist Church. Maturin died in 1804 in Richmond,
New Hampshire.
Peter Ballou was born on
August 1, 1689 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island.
Peter is the son of John Ballou and Hannah Garret\Jarret.
Peter married Rebecca Esten on
May 13, 1714 in Providence, Rhode Island. Peter and Rebecca were
the parents of Maturin and Peter. Peter died on May 9, 1754 in
Providence, Rhode Island.
John Ballou was
born on August 26, 1653 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode
Island. One of six children born to Maturin Ballou and
Hannah Pike. John was admitted
as Freeman on May 1, 1671 in Newport, Rhode Island. John married
Hannah Garret\Jarret on January 4, 1678/79 in Rhode Island.
John and Hannah were the parents of Peter. John was a farmer.
John died before March 4, 1714 in Providence, Rhode Island.
Hannah Garret\Jarret was
born about 1654 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island.
Hannah died after 1747 in Rhode Island.
Maturin Ballou was
born between 1610 and 1627 in Devonshire, England. In 1646 he
is found in Rhode Island listed as Mathurin Bellow. Maturin married
Hannah Pike between 1646 and 1649
in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island. Maturin and Hannah
were the parents of John, James, Peter, Hannah, Nathaniel and
Samuel. Maturin was made Freeman on May 18, 1658 in Warwick, Rhode
Island. Maturin died on February 24, 1661 in Providence, Providence
County, Rhode Island.
