Maternal Maternal Line
Anna Beidler
was born on March 24, 1745 in Milford Township, Bucks County,
Pennsylvania. She is one of seven children born to Jacob Beidler
and Anna Meyer. She was a member
of the Deep Run Mennonite Church, Bucks County, Pennyslvania.
On January 3, 1765 Anna married Henry Oberholtzer
in Bucks County, Pennyslvania. Anna and Henry were the parents
of Agnes, Maria, Jacob, Anna, Martin, Barbara, Elizabeth, Henry,
Sarah, Abraham, Christian and Susannah. Anna died on April 5,
1835 and was buried in the Alverton Cemetery, Stonerville, Westmoreland
County, Pennsylvania.
Jacob
Beidler was born in 1709 in Germany.
On October 8, 1737 he came to America on board the ship "Charming
Nancy". He was a Redemptioner, which means that he had no
money for the fare to America thus at the end of the voyage he
was sold by the master of the vessel for a term of years in exchange
for his fare. Jacob served his time in Chester County, Pennyslvannia.
He was a Mennonite, follower of Menno Simon - who disagreed with
the Lutheran (german) church. Jacob married Anna Meyer
and they were the parents of Elizabeth, Abraham, Barbara,
Anna, John, Jacob and Christian. Jacob and Anna settled first
somewhere in Chester County, Pennsylvania and later in "Lower"
Milford Township, Bucks County, Pennyslvania, about one mile west
of Spinnerstown, where he purchased a tract of fifty acres in
1753, and another tract of seventy acres and 111 perches was acquired
by Proprieties Patent of Thomas and Richard Penn, in 1760. Jacob
was a Farmer and Yeoman. Jacob lived to be 101 years old, and
is said to have become blind in his latter years. He made his
will in 1801, which was probated and registered May 12, 1810.
He died in Milford Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1810.
