Sarah
C. Gore was born on September 4,
1842 in Chatham, Medina County, Ohio. She is the only child of
Hiram Gore and Laura Sabin.
Sarah appears in the 1850 census of Chatham, Medina County, Ohio
and had attended school during the census year. On July 17, 1860
she is found in the Chatham, Medina County, Ohio census. Sarah
married James Henry Streeter
on August 29, 1860 in Chatham, Medina County, Ohio. Sarah and
Henry would have two daughters, Milia Francina and Minnie Laura.
Sarah and family are on the census on July 2, 1870 in Guilford,
Windham County, Vermont. By 1877 Sarah was living in Connecticut,
probably the Rowayton area, which is where the picture at left
was taken.

Mrs. Sarah Streator, daughter of Mr. Goar, formerly of Chatham, is here from Connecticut visiting relatives.
Sarah resided for a time in Springfield, Massachusetts, moving to St. Petersburg, Hillsborough County, Florida around 1904. Sarah died on August 28, 1905 in St. Petersburg, Hillsborough County, Florida. She was buried on August 31, 1905 in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Brattleboro, Windham County, Vermont. Burial permit lists undertaker as H. E. Bond & Son of Brattleboro. Henry Tucker signed the form and the sexton at the cemetery was E. J. Knowlton. Her cause of death was a Cerebrel Hemorrhage.
Her Obituary was in The Vermont Phoenix on September 1, 1905 in Brattleboro, Windham County, Vermont.
Mrs. Sarah C. Streeter, 64, widow of J.
H. Streeter, formerly of Brattleboro, died of cerebral hemorrhage
Monday in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was a native of Chatham, Ohio,
and was married to Mr. Streeter, who was a cousin of George A.
Hines, her death taking place on the 45th anniversary of her marriage.
Mr. Streeter was for many years employed by the Estey Organ company,
being one of the department superintendents. After his death,
which took place about 11 years ago, Mrs. Streeter went to Springfield,
Mass., where she lived 10 years, going to St. Petersburg a year
ago. During a large part of her residence in Brattleboro Mrs.
Streeter was an invalid, but she had been in good health since
then. She was a woman of patient and courageous temperament, sweet
disposition and strong character. The body was brought to Brattleboro,
her husband's native town, yesterday for burial in the family
lot in Prospect Hill cemetery. Rev. Frank L. Masseck, pastor of
the Universalist church, officiated at the committal service.
Mrs. Streeter is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Milia Case of
St. Petersburg and Mrs. Minnie L. Thompson of Burlington, Mass.,
both of whom came to Brattleboro yesterday.
Hiram
Gore was born on June 7, 1806 in
Monroe, Massachusetts. The eldest son of Daniel Gore and
Barbary Ballou. In Halifax, Vermont
Hiram married Laura Sabin on May
7, 1839. Hiram and Laura were the parents of Sarah C. Hiram and
Laura moved to Ohio. In the 1850 Federal census taken in Chatham,
Medina County, Ohio, Hiram is a farmer with real estate valued
at $1500.00. On November 1, 1859 Hiram took a deed to a .75 Chatham
Town Lot. In late 1859 or early 1860 a widowed Hiram went back
to Vermont for a winters visit. While there he met and married
Laura Hines, the widow Streeter.
In 1860 they returned to Ohio where on July 17, 1860 the family
appears in the census of Chatham, Medina County, Ohio. Hiram was
a farmer, who owned real estate valued at $600.00 and had a personal
estate valued at $4400.00. On September 5, 1861 Hiram took deed
to a fifty-eight acre farm in Chatham, Medina County, Ohio, he
sold the farm on January 21, 1863. Hiram and family left Chatham
in May or June of 1864 and returned to Vermont. Hiram died on
February 6, 1880 in Guilford, Windham County, Vermont. He was
buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Brattleboro, Windham County,
Vermont. Tombstone Inscription reads "Hiram Gore. Born June
7, 1806. Passed to the higher life. Feb. 6, 1880." There
is more carved on the tombstone but it is too difficult to read.
Daniel Gore was born on October 30, 1783
in Guilford, Windham County, Vermont. The fifth son born to Elijah
Gore and Sarah Little. Daniel
married Barbary Ballou on January
8, 1805. Daniel and Barbary were the parents of Hiram, Lovell,
Juliana, Moses, Asahel, Sarah, Elmina F., and Caroline Lydia.
Daniel died on April 10, 1859 in Monroe, Massachusetts.
Elijah
Gore was born on February 11, 1743 in Norwich, Connecticut.
He was one of ten children born to Samuel Gore and Desire
Safford. On December 11, 1767 in
Voluntown, Connecticut, Elijah married Sarah Little.
Elijah and Sarah were the parents of Elijah, Ezekial, Margaret,
Samuel, Obadiah, Hannah, Lucy, Daniel, Desire, Sarah and Joseph.
Elijah died in Halifax, Vermont.
Samuel Gore
was born about 1713 in Connecticut. His parents were Samuel
Gore and Hannah Chandler Draper.
Samuel married Desire Safford
on February 5, 1736 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut.
Samuel and Desire were the parents of John, Elizabeth, Hannah,
Elijah, Dorithy, Abel, Desire, Amos, Esther and Ebenezer.
Samuel
Gore was born on October 20, 1681 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
He was the son of Samuel Gore and Elizabeth Weld.
Before 1704 Samuel married Hannah Chandler Draper.
They were the parents of Elizabeth, Samuel, Samuel, Moses, John,
Samuel, Obadiah, Samuel, Hannah, and Sarah. A widowed Samuel would
marry second on May 13, 1742, Dorcas unknown last name,
the widow Blunt. Samuel died on May 27, 1756 in Norwich,
Connecticut.
Samuel Gore was born in 1652
in Roxbury, Massachusetts. The second youngest son of John
Gore and Rhoda Garner. Samuel married Elizabeth
Weld on August 28, 1672. Samuel and
Elizabeth were the parents of Abigail, John, Samuel, John, Thomas,
Obadiah and Margaret. Samuel was a carpenter and for several years
a selectman in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Samuel died in July of
1692 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
John Gore
was born about 1594 in Waltham Abbey, Sussex, England, the son
of Richard Gore and Elizabeth unknown last name.
John married Rhoda\Rose Garner\Gardner before 1634 in England.
John and Rhoda were the parents of Mary, John, Obadiah, Abigail,
Abigail, Hannah, Obadiah, a set of unnamed twins, Samuel and Benjamin.
John settled in Roxbury, Massachusetts were he was entered as
a freeman on April 18, 1637. He was a town clerk in Roxbury, Massachusetts
and many of the early records there are in his handwriting. John
was a member of the artillery company in 1638 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
By 1643 he owned 188 acres in Roxbury, Massachusetts. John died
on June 2, 1657 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
Rhoda\Rose Garner\Gardner was
born about 1610. After John's death Rhoda would marry three more
times. Her second marriage was to John Remington who died
about 1667. Rhoda's third marriage was to Edward Porter
who died in 1677. Her fourth marriage was to Joshua Tidd
who died September 15, 1678 in Charlestown, Massachusets. Rhoda
died on August 22, 1693 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
Richard
Gore was the child of William Gore and an unknown mother.
He was married to Elizabeth unknown last name. Richard
and Elizabeth are the parents of John. Richard died in 1643.
Elizabeth
unknown last name was born about 1576.
William
Gore is the child of Nicholas Gore and Dorothy Thistlethwaite.
William and an unknown woman are the parents of Richard. William
died on November 13, 1587 in Nether Wallop, Hampshire, England.
Nicholas
Gore was the child of Richard Gore and an unknown mother.
He was married to Dorothy Thistlethwaite. They
were the parents of William. Nicholas died about 1561.
Richard
Gore was born about 1543 in Nether Wallop, Wiltshire, England.
Richard and an unknown woman were the parents of Nicholas.
