Miriam Overman
was born on June 1, 1764 in Perquimans, Perquimans County, North
Carolina. She is one of seven children born to John Overman
and Hannah Scott. Miriam was a
member of the Quaker community. On January 21, 1786 in Wayne County,
North Carolina, Miriam married John Hollowell.
Miriam and John were the parents of Henry, Jesse, Mary, Sarah,
Jonathan, Eli, Aaron and John. On March 14, 1807 Miriam and daughters
Mary and Sarah were granted a certificate to transfer to a monthly
meeting in Ohio.
John Overman was born on
November 3, 1733 in Pasquotank County, North Carolina. He was
one of eight children born to Thomas Overman and Miriam
Nicholson. John married Hannah Scott
on December 4, 1755. John and Hannah were the parents of Aaron,
Sarah, Thomas, Miriam, John, Jesse and Mary.
Thomas
Overman was born about 1707. On November 4, 1726 Thomas married
Miriam Nicholson in Perquimans County, North Carolina.
Thomas and Miriam were the parents of Miriam, Joseph, John, Christopher,
Benjamin, Hannah, Jeams and Thomas.
Miriam Nicholson was born
about 1711.
