Hannah Pickett
was born about 1838 in Ohio. She is one of a dozen children born
to Heathcoat Pickett and Elizabeth Benjamin.
On February 14, 1844 Hannah married John Mender
in Athens County, Ohio. Hannah and John were the parents of Elizabeth,
Horace, John, Wallace and Rosean. Hannah died prior to June 1,
1923.
Heathcoat Pickett was born on November
16, 1796 in Maryland. He is one of seven children born to James
H. Pickett and Temperance Price. Heathcoat married
Elizabeth Benjamin on June
8, 1818 in Athens County, Ohio. Heathcoat and Elizabeth were the
parents of Temperance, Polly, Elizabeth, Rebecca, James, Julia
Ann, Samuel Wallace, Rhoda, Harriet, Hannah, Persoccia and John.
In the 1850 census taken on October 14, 1850 in York, Athens County,
Ohio, he is listed as Hethcote. His birthplace is listed as Ohio,
he is a Farmer who can not read or write. Heathcoat died on April
9, 1873 in York Township, Athens County, Ohio. He was buried in
Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio.
James H.
Pickett was born about 1760 in Maryland.
There is a possibility that James may be the child of William
Pickett and Elizabeth Heathcote. James married Temperance Price
and they were the parents of Samuel, Heathcoat, Elizabeth, Julia,
Persoccia, Rebecca and James. About 1799 James and family moved
from Virginia to Athens Township, Ohio. James died about 1831
in Athens County, Ohio.
Temperance Price was born in
1762 in Maryland. Temperance was the daughter of unknown first
name Price and Temperance Heathcote. Temperance
died on January 24, 1843 in York Township, Athens County, Ohio.
