Edith Elizabeth Squire was born about 1587 in Charlton Mackrell, Somersetshire,
England. She was one of five daughters born to Henry Squire
and an unknown mother. On October 19, 1609 in Charlton Mackrell,
Somersetshire, England Edith married Henry Adams.
Edith and Henry were the parents of Henry, Thomas Wright, Jonathan,
Samuel, Ursula, John, Peter, Joseph and Edward. In 1638 the family
moved to Braintree, Massachusetts. Edith died on January 21, 1672
in Medfield, Massachusetts.
Henry Squire
was born about 1563 in Charlton Mackrell, Somersetshire, England.
He was one of four sons born to William Squire and an unknown
mother. In 1580 at the age of 16 he was a Husbandman in Moorlinch.
Henry fathered five daughters with an unknown wife, they were
Edith Elizabeth, Sarah, Ann, Margaret and Frances. In 1613 he
moved to Kingweston where he was the Blacksmith. Henry died before
December 25, 1649 in Kingweston, Somersetshire, England.
William
Squire was born about 1520. He fathered four sons with an
unknown wife, they were William, Andrew, Francis and Henry. He
was the Rector of Charlton Mackrell, Somersetshire, England. William
died about 1567.
