Mary Terry
was the daughter of William Terry and possible first name
Mary Cleves. On May 27 1788,
Mary married Warren Richmond
in Southold, Long Island, Suffolk County, New York. Mary and Warren
were the parents of Achsa, Elias, George, James, Thomas, Louisa
and Warren.
William Terry was born about
1724. He was one of six children born to Thomas Terry and
an unknown mother. William married possible first name Mary
Cleves. William and Mary were the
parents of Elizabeth, John Cleves, Mary, Ruth and Thomas. William
died before 1790 possibly in New Jersey.
Thomas Terry was born
about 1680. He was the son of Thomas Terry and Eliza
unknown last name. Thomas married twice and fathered four sons
and two daughters, at this time it is uncertain which wife was
the mother of which children. The children were David, Mehitable,
Ruth, Thomas, Jonathan and William. Thomas married Martha Petty
in 1723/24 in Southold, Long Island, Suffolk County, New York.
Thomas' other wife was Mehitabel Tuthill.
Thomas' will includes:
To my wife Mehitabel, the use of all my estate until my son Thomas
is of age, if she remains my widow. To my daughter Ruth a hundred
pounds. To my youngest daughter Mehitabel ... To my son Thomas
all real estate and the remainder of the personal property. Executors
are Mehitabel and his brother Jonathan, who was left as a token
of love 3 pounds. Will was witnessed by Daniel Petty, Nathaniel
Barbar, and John Petty.
Thomas Terry was the son of Thomas Terry and Marie
unknown last name. Thomas married Eliza unknown last name
and they were the parents of Daniel, Jonathan, Joseph, Thomas
and Abigail. Thomas was deeded land on Abram's Island in 1676/1677
by Abraham Whittier. In the Southold Tax List of 1675 Thomas was
assessed 129 pounds for eight acres of land, twelve cattle, six
horses, "&C". In 1690/1691 he was deeded meadowland
at Oyster Ponds by Edward Petty. In 1706 Abraham Youngs
deeded Thomas land at Oyster Ponds (Orient, Long Island, New York).
After 1707 Thomas married Eleanor Thurston, the widow of
George Havens. Thomas and his brother Daniel owned land
together at Occabank, which was divided May 30,1711. Thomas died
on March 24, 1724.
Thomas Terry
was born about 1607 in England, one of three sons born to unknown
parents. His brothers were Robert and Richard. In 1635 Thomas
immigrated from London on board the James. Thomas married Marie
unknown last name and they were the parents of Thomas, Daniel,
Elizabeth, Ruth and Mary. Thomas died after November 26, 1671
and before July 5,1672 in Southold, Long Island, New York.
Thomas Terry's will
Thomas Terry Sr of Southold, very sick and weak. Left his beloved wife 15 bushels of corn yearly, household goods, 4 bushels of apples yearly. His son Daniel - if he marries and no longer wishes to live with his mother Daniel shall build his mother a house. Daniel receives 10 bushels of corn, his fathers house and accomadations within ye old bounds; and one half my land at Ackabache. His son Thomas - 5 bushels of corn, and the land at Cutchock(Cutchogue) and one half his land at Ackabache(Aquebogue). To his daughter Elizabeth - 1 cow when she becomes of age or marries. Legacies left to daughters Ruth and Mrs. Mary Reeve. Administrator was Daniel.
