Margaret Lucinda UnderwoodMargaret Lucinda Underwood was born on February 12, 1836 in Richview, Washington County, Illinois. The daughter of James Underwood and Mary Leddington. Margaret and Cornelius Newkirk Breeze were married by R. Piercy, Magistrate on February 21, 1856 in Richview, Washington County, Illinois. Margaret and Cornelius were the parents of Roselda Jeanette, John David, Sarah Lucinda, Reuben Lemuel, Mary Isabell, Ann Rebecca, Aretha Alice, Edgar Austin and an unnamed infant. Margaret died on September 17, 1898 in North Venice, Johnson County, Texas. She was buried in Dukes Cemetery, Johnson County, Texas.

James Underwood was born in 1811 in North Carolina. James married Mary Leddington, they were the parents of Margaret Lucinda. James was a Circuit Rider Methodist Minister. According to the 1830 Washington County, Illinois Census there is a James Underwood age between 20 and 30, with one male child under 5, one female between 20 and 30, one female under 5 and another male between 20 and 30.

Mary Leddington\Ludington was also known as Polly Leddington.
